Beginner’s Guide to Rummy Game Rules : KSBM INFOTECH PVT LTD

Rummy is a popular card game that has been played for centuries in different parts of the world. KSBM Infotech Pvt Ltd is one of the leading Rummy game platforms in India that offers a variety of game options to players. If you are new to Rummy and are playing on the KSBM Infotech platform, this beginner’s guide will help you understand the game rules.

The objective of the game is to form sets and sequences of cards in your hand. A set is a group of three or more cards of the same rank but different suits, while a sequence is a group of three or more consecutive cards of the same suit. The player who forms the required sets and sequences first wins the game.

Here are the basic rules of Rummy:

  1. Players: Rummy can be played by 2 to 6 players with one deck of 52 cards.
  2. Dealing: The dealer deals 13 cards to each player, and the remaining cards are placed face down on the table to form the stock pile. The top card of the stock pile is turned face up to form the discard pile.
  3. Gameplay: The player to the left of the dealer starts the game by drawing a card from either the stock pile or the discard pile. The player then tries to form sets and sequences by discarding one card from their hand onto the discard pile.
  4. Jokers: In Rummy, there are two types of jokers – printed jokers and wild jokers. Printed jokers are the cards that have joker printed on them, while wild jokers are the cards that are randomly selected as jokers at the beginning of the game. Jokers can be used as substitutes for any card to form sets and sequences.
  5. Melding: Once a player forms the required sets and sequences in their hand, they can declare their hand by placing the cards face up on the table. This is called melding. If the player has not formed the required sets and sequences, they can continue to draw and discard cards until they can meld their hand.
  6. Scoring: In Rummy, the scoring is based on the points of the cards that the player has not been able to meld. Face cards like Kings, Queens, and Jacks are worth 10 points each, while Ace is worth 1 point. The numbered cards are worth their face value. The player with the lowest score at the end of the game wins.
  7. Knocking: If a player feels that they have formed the required sets and sequences but are unable to meld their hand, they can choose to knock. This means that they will lay their cards face down on the table and let the other players meld their hands. If the knocking player’s score is lower than the other players, they win. If not, they lose.

Rummy is an enjoyable and challenging game that requires strategy and skill. By following these basic rules, you can start playing Rummy on the KSBM Infotech platform and improve your game over time. Remember, practice makes perfect, and with time, you will become a skilled Rummy player.
